3Music was back in 2011 for an 8th consecutive year with many young people from across Hertfordshire being offered a platform to showcase their musical skills.
15 year old Samantha Grint was crowned the Young Artist of the Year at this year's final showcase held at The Forum in Hatfield on Saturday 4th June. She performed a self-penned song, beating 14 other competitors to the title at the event, hosted by JACK fm's Steve Folland.
Other winners were the 14 year old backing dancer Bethany Huckle and audience vote winner 13 year old Kayleigh Clayton.
Starting back in March this year, young performers from 4 districts went through a series of workshops with industry professionals and 2 auditions before reaching the live final. There was a selection of career enhancing prizes up for grabs on the night with Samantha winning a recording session at Graphic Nature studios and album cover shots courtesy of Ray Lowe studios.
Over the years 3Music has successfully acted as a starting block for many young performers seeking a career in the theatre and music industry and Samantha is keen to carry on the tradition and become a successful recording artist.
Project Organiser Samara Stanton added "3Music acts as a platform to showcase young talent and each year it gets bigger and better with the level of artistic talent reaching new heights this year. Samantha was up against stiff competition; however I think we've found a true Star".
